The competition & trade law team of our Brussels office is looking to recruit an intern for a six-month contract starting September 2021.

The role

Becoming an intern at Bird & Bird is the first step to discover your potential. It's a rich learning experience. You will be given accountability for important pieces of work from day one working for exciting international clients across a range of sectors;

  • You will assist our competition lawyers in their day to day assignments. For example, you will have the opportunity to draft submissions and memoranda as well as researching a wide variety of issues;
  • You will be actively involved in marketing and business development initiatives (such as client seminars, alerts and publications);
  • You will build your skills, develop your knowledge from our legal experts and their feedback on your work;
  • You will work in an environment in which people genuinely enjoy working together and learning from each other, and

    • Your profile

  • A good background in competition law; an LL.M. in Competition or EU Law or an internship in DG COMP or a national competition authority is an advantage;
  • A native-speaking level of English and excellent drafting skills; fluent Dutch and/or German is an advantage;
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Committed to delivering high-quality work;
  • A good team player, eager to learn, fitting in well with our open, entrepreneurial culture; and
  • Interested in business development activities.
